I’ve never taken a blogcation {a vacation from my blog} for more than a few days in the nearly three years that I’ve been blogging. The most I’ve ever been away from this blog was this past December when I took almost one full week off before the New Year – and you know what?
It was the best decision I ever made. Otherwise, I may have been close to landing in that dreadful Bloggy Burnout.
We always have to take a step back and evaluate what is working and not working when it comes to our blog – and we all know that social media plays a vital role in blogging which also adds to our time spent in this space. There are only so many hours in a day and we can’t do it all, so this year, I am taking another leap of faith.
I’m taking a short blogcation.
Some bloggers may *gasp* in horror and never dream of doing something like this, but my husband has some time off coming to him so I don’t want to regret not being there every second. It’s kind of like our family’s “Spring Break” so I don’t want to miss a beat. Typically, I would be going crazy trying to manage and schedule tons of guest posts and a few of my own (as I’ve done in previous years), but if I planned for all of that right now, I probably would land in bloggy burnout.
And I certainly don’t want to be there.
You see, when I take a short break from my blog – whether it’s two days or even a week, I come back to this space refreshed; I come back excited to post and share my writing with you. When I feel “forced” to post just for the sake of posting, it loses value in my mind and I don’t ever want to feel like that. So this year, I think it’s safe to say I’ve paid my dues long enough to take a short blogcation.
Of course I’ll miss you when I’m gone, but just know I am never far – I will be checking email regularly and you know you can ALWAYS find me on Twitter and my latest addiction Pinterest.
I also didn’t want to leave you empty handed, so I added some quality Theta Mom® reading for you to return to over the next two weeks. I chose some of my favorite posts for you to enjoy, including a fun Q+A About Me and some sage advice on What I Would Say to Her.

I tried to show a variety of posts from various topics from the past several years so there is a little something for everyone. I will be back in full force the first week of April – until then, try not to miss me too much.
I’ll look forward to catching up with you when I return and by then, you know I’ll have a couple of fun surprises and announcements up my sleeve!
Until then…

I’m taking one or two of these this summer and this is a great way to do it… leave some links that we may have missed and wave bye! Having guests is a lot of work I think. Good example, enjoy the break!

It is completely understandable.
It’s just like mothering; we need a break or we will snap and then we can come back refreshed and ready to fight a new day.
Enjoy your time away!
