TMC welcomes Jessica, author of the blog My Time as Mom. Jessica may consider herself a newbie since she just started blogging this year, but she is quickly developing her own fabulous community of readers! She’s another engaging blogger who easily translates the reality of motherhood and infuses some humor in as often as she can. Here is how she describes her blog in her own words:
“My name is Jessica and I am the entertaining writer of a blog and I also serve as the official caretaker of my husband, my two adorably insane daughters (ages 7 and 2), and two extremely dumb dogs. I just completed my B.A. degree in Business Management with a minor in Accounting after six long years of college. In January, I will be going back to graduate school for the MBA degree but for now I will be enjoying the break from school.
My husband and I own a small business in Reno, NV where we live. As President of the company, I delegated the husband to run daily operations. I go in once a week to oversee his work and to handle the bookkeeping.
I spend most of my time at home with my laptop and my kids.
Occasionally I do some quilting and scrapbooking.
I am often operating under the influence of sleep deprivation because I stay up way too late at night. To counteract this I try to nap whenever possible.
I avoid cooking and cleaning at all costs.
A little about my blog…I started blogging in January 2011 so I am still fairly new to the blogosphere. My writing is inspired by the daily antics of my husband and children. Occasionally I throw in a post or two about my mom and the things she does for me or has taught me. I am very honest and open about myself and how I am with my family. I try to use humor whenever possible as I believe laughter is powerful.
I recently started a new meme with Mommy is in Timeout and Mommy Monologues called VlogTalk. Each week we provide prompts and on Tuesdays we provide a linkup for the vlog posts. This feature is very new but our goal is to help people step out of their comfort zone and try something new with vlogging. In addition to the link up we also have a weekly Twitter chat called #vlogtalk on Tuesday nights at 9pm EST/6pm PST.
