It’s Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday! For those of you visiting for the first time, the goal is to grab one hour of time within one week to do whatever you want…without the kids. It’s such an amazing proposition, I know! After my big brew ha ha of last week’s totally lame time out, (including my recent post about how time is a thief), you better believe that I made every last effort to get some freakin “me” time!
Nothing earth shattering, nothing crazy, but still considered a successful hour of uninterrupted time for moi.
So what did I do?
I know, you are just dying to know after all of the fuss I made last week…
Well, I whipped out my latest edition of In Style since I haven’t picked it up in months. It’s a wonder why I even pay to subscribe to this magazine because I haven’t been able to catch up on an issue yet…well, until now.
I also grabbed my favorite nail polish and decided to give my nails an upscale at-home manicure. If you didn’t know, The Gap actually sells some really cute nail polish that seems to last forever. I chose a sparkling pink color since I thought it would give me that girlie lift I am in such desperate need of lately.
And what better way to complete my hour but to sip a glass of my father-in-law’s best homemade Sicilian wine? It is so ridiculously good, he bottles it up for me and I enjoy it every single time I drink it. Every time.
So, there you have it. A good old magazine I totally adore, getting the opportunity to paint my neglected nails and sip some ever oh-so-good vino while I relaxed…uninterrupted…for an entire hour.
Peace at last Theta Moms! Now that’s what I call some QT for me!!!

Oh, I'm so glad. I was wondering what you were going to do. I remembered last week, we both "lamed" out.
Not sure what I'm going to do… I did wake up an hour early today. I'm just sitting here blogging in silence. Does that count? LOL
Love the polish. And I bet that wine is the best ever! My grandmother used to make home made red wine ~ it was sooo yum!

I'm going to visit my BFF for a long weekend. We will have kids and hubs there, too but will be sneaking away for shopping and lunch on Sat. That will be my time-out.
Last weekend I went out for the first time since giving birth to my second son. I gathered up 3 girlfriends and we went to a wine and cheese bar. We then discussed our children's sleep schedules over stinky cheese and white wine. It was great!

I love wine! Sounds relaxing! I still want to get my nails done one of these days. Today I am going to make me time. I have a budget meeting tonight for Girl Scouts for our county. So I asked my friend if before the meeting she wanted to go out to dinner. So we are going out to dinner before the meeting. I will finally have time to myself! YIPPEE I can't wait!!
I am going to treat myself to the $30 of Kohl's cash that my mother in law gave me to use. Normally I head over to the kids/men's dept….but tonight, I am hooking this mama up with a new pair of shoes that I desperately need now that it is getting colder and being barefoot is not gonna cut it much longer.
I also slapped a little new polish on my toes last night. 😀
Lastly, tonight after I get home….I will take a hot shower, slip into some comfy jammies and catch up on a few shows I recorded last week.

My kids have been at the ex's this week and come home today. So, my week has been one long time out…I am so glad that time out is almost over!
I LOVE this time out and it is something I would totally enjoy doing if only I had the space! There is pretty much no where in my house to go and be uninterrupted.
Seriously.
It's ok though, we'll be moving soon enough 😉

nice job getting your time in! I have my InStyle sitting in the bathroom, my husband looks at it! That wine looks delish too…I spent an hour this week reading a new Mary Higgins Clark book..in the middle of the afternoon!

OMG! I forgot you were a fellow new jersian! I do a lot of forgetting these days…what town are you in? I'm on Southampton. Originally from LBI but I've lived all over the state. My parents live in LEH. We should do our time out together one of these days – I was just on the Smithville event page and they're decorating the train for Halloween starting 10/10!

my toes are screaming for some attention! thank goodness it is getting colder and the flip flops are nearly done for another season and i can continue to ignore them and their chipping paint
maybe i'll get my hour in tomorrow night when my son has a sleep over! yeah!

I used to paint my nails every few days. It never chipped because I was taking it off and putting a new color on before it could! It's amazing how polishing my nails is like a major deal now.

Great idea, although it seems an impossible task to find an hour without the kids that I'm not cleaning, folding laundry, catching up on emails, etc! LOL!

My Dad makes wine too!!! It's delicious! He makes elderberry wine, had it at our wedding and even had Dwan (MommaDJane) try some when she visited this past summer!
