I want to start out by expressing how much I appreciate the blog love so many of you have bestowed upon me these last few days! I so appreciate the amazing comments and I am grateful for all of you who took the time to vote for me over at The Bump! I am so honored to have been selected as a finalist and if it wasn’t for the following bloggers to nominate me, I wouldn’t have had the chance in the first place! I want to take a moment to recognize:
Sophia’s Mom from The Wanna Be WAHM
Shelly from The Attic Girl
Sonya from Curly Girl’s Crochet
Alaina from Telecommuting Moms
These fabulous ladies all nominated me, so please swing by their blogs, show them some love and tell them I sent you. Although I wasn’t selected to move forward at The Bump, I’ve been added to Top Mommy Blogs (link is on my right side bar) so I’m sure with a little help from you just one more time, we’ll get Theta Mom to the top! Thanks again for the bloggy love and I’ll say it a million times, I have the BEST followers!!!
Alright, let’s Spice It Up…
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I hate to cook. I actually don’t cook, I cut and dump. If you missed that post, you can find it here.
That’s right ladies, I just cut open the package and dump it in. So you will most likely never find me posting any kind of cooking advice…unless of course it was such a good secret that I just had to share.
Well, Halloween is fast approaching and my son (with his nut allergy) is so limited to the kinds of candy he can eat, I always make the most unbelievable cut and dump that he enjoys, especially this time of year. Yes, even my picky-eater-allergy-suffering son LOVES it!
It takes me approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds to pull this beauty together.
Ready?
Cut and dump Spice Cake Mix: *Don’t follow the directions on the box, just cut and dump!
Cut and Dump Pure Pumpkin (use half of the big can, 15 oz…I always make two cakes at a time so I buy the big one)
Dump ¼ cup of water and stir it all up in one big bowl. (Actually, you should probably use a mixer, but I think a few turns with a spoon does the job…you decide).
Dump this into your favorite baking dish (sprayed of course) and bake for 30 minutes at 350.
Note: When serving, I usually spice it up by dumping some powdered sugar on top after it cools.
Now ladies, a good cut and dump doesn’t get much better than that, so go spice it up and tell me how it goes!

Wow, Heather! No eggs? No oil? Just the mix and pumpkin and water? That sounds awesomely easy!! I will *definitely* be trying this.
I really thought you had that contest in the bag. I should have checked back and voted compulsively over and over. Sorry. Next time. I promise.
CHRISTINE says
Oh this is great…I love to cut and dump. lol
Tater Tot Mom says
Cut and dump…I love that! It sounds so easy that I'm definitely going to have to try this!

That sounds sooooo delicious! What is a serving size according to Weight Watcher's? I know what I would catagorize as a serving-size of something so yummy would probably not match WW. I really do want to know.
Kmama says
Hey, you stole my recipe (I posted about this a little while back)! LOL Actually, I don't add water, and add some chocolate chips, then put in a muffin pan and serve as muffins. They are a HUGE hit. My oldest son is also allergic to eggs, so it's a favorite in our house.
Kimi says
That sounds so good! And easy! My two favorite things.

that just reminded me of a cupa cupa cupa! Did you ever see Steel Magnolias? They talk about a recipe that is a cup of fruit cocktail, a cup of flour and a cup of sugar, a cup of milk you "bake until bubbly" and serve over ice cream!

Loukia says
Yum! You're awesome… I'm not a baker myself, even though I recently made a carrot cake with icing from scratch – first time EVER I have done something like that. It will not be a regular occurance in my house, though – it was stressful! LOL!
P.S. I of course voted for you – here's hoping you win!
Dee says
YUM! And congrats on being nominated too. I think what killed us is that people can vote OVER AND OVER for themselves!

PS You aren't the only one who doesn't cook.

I'm similar in the cooking arena. Hubby is the better cook at my house. In fact, it's my turn to cook and I've decided I'm doing freezer to oven meals this week.

Thanks for the sweet comment over at my place. Love your blog, added myself as a follower!
Petula says
Oh wow! I love you… you rock. My kinda cooking. I used to cook like crazy and for the past two years I've tried to make it as simple as possible because I don't even like to cook anymore. Probably couldn't call the majority of what I do cooking. No planning, no thinking, just a lot of "Hmmmm… I think I'll make this."
What makes it so bad is that my grandmother taught me how to cook-cook. I know how to make EVERYTHING from scratch. Too tedious and time consuming. I have better things to do like… uh… blogging! LOL
Oh, I don't mean to make this such a long comment, but this reminds me of a one serving chocolate cake slice that I saw in a magazine. Put the ingredients in a coffee cup, microwave them and then dump it on the plate. Perfect, huh?
Lisa says
Well, we definitely have cooking style in common! lol
I am definitely a cut and dump cook and I can't wait to try this cake!
