It’s Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday! For those of you visiting for the first time, the goal is to grab one hour of time within one week to do whatever you want…without the kids. It’s such an amazing proposition, I know! On Thursdays, post how you spent your “time out” (add my button from the right side bar or link to me) and be sure to stop here to link up and meet other Theta Moms to see how they spent their time out!
The hubs and I were invited to a birthday party (adults only) over the weekend. I have been looking forward to this party for weeks now since it’s an opportunity to get out of the house without the kids and enjoy some adult conversation. And a few glasses of wine doesn’t hurt a girl either! But to my dismay, after trying to make arrangements to get someone to watch the kids for the evening was not happening. All of my family members were invited to this party as well, so that made it even harder to find a sitter.
The night before the big bash, my husband turned to me and said, “Why don’t you go? I’ll watch the kids….you go and enjoy yourself. You could use a night out.”
“Huh?” I had to hit the rewind button on that one…
“Really? You don’t mind?”
In retrospect, my hubby had to get up early the next morning, so I think that helped him to make this enticing offer. He wouldn’t really have a good time knowing he would have to get up so early the next day. So hey, regardless of his true motive ladies, it was music to my ears and I ran with it! Who doesn’t love good birthday cake anyway?
So on Saturday night, I had fun getting all dressed up. I wore a really cute outfit, put on some adorable jewelry and I felt fabulous! The mere thought of knowing I was going to talk with friends that I adore over some cocktails was just so exciting!
I arrived at the party fashionably late and had the best time. I caught up with some family members, enjoyed some time with the birthday girl and had my fair share of cocktails. It was a rockstar time out for me this week for sure…and no kids in sight!
If you are participating in Theta Mom Thursday, link up and share your time out with other Theta Moms! How did you spend your one hour?
That sounds great! I need to carve out a moment for myself. It's a bit tricky with a nursing 5 month old that yells at any bottle put to his lips.
This too shall pass and before I know it I will be sipping White Russians at a classy bar with the hubby.
Until then, I will live vicariously through you!
XO

that's terrific! there usually are alterior motives for hubbys suggesting such offers….but eff it…he's offerin', i'm takin' :o)
aaawwww…that was so nice of your hubby! We do that on occassion as well. The peace of mind itself is priceless!
Hubby staying with the kids is best part… not about being without him at the party, but rather that if there is one person I absolutely trust to be with our children, it would be hubby, hands down.
Glad you got a chance to par-tay!!
You do it girl! I bet you looked sharp! I'm happy to hear you had fun.
How fun and what a great hubby! We never go out without kids. But, we only have them every other weekend, so we have our alone adult time when they aren't here!
That is AWESOME that you got to go Rock Out while hubby stayed back to man the fort. I need to go that more for my wife.

I won't brag about my mornings alone now school is back in session.

All right. I'm just gonna have to live vicariously through you for a while. I can't remember the last time I had an hour to myself. (5 minutes?) So glad you're having fun. Cheers!
Sometimes it just doesn't matter where you go, getting dressed up (and I don't mean in your nice sweats) is so great!
You changed your blog up right? I get my Mommy time tonight when I watch my Thursday night show.
Sounds like you had a great time.
I haven't had time out, but the week's not over yet. lol.
ahhh that sounds fun. I really need to do that. Some wine sounds good too!
I went to be a first grader in art class with 25 other first graders. I felt like a kid again. I think I took 5 years off my life.
Sounds like you had a great time. Yay!!! And a salute to your fantastic hubby.
I hopped over here from I Want To Make That to say Congrats on your award!
Sounds like you had a great time!
Your Time Out for Theata Mom sounds great! I do have time when my son goes to school(a couple hours) but I never seem to be doing anything for myself, just for the house during those times. It just flies by!
Thanks so much for visiting and following my site! I'm following you to-what a great blog!
This week I talked on the phone for a whole hour – yeah, I said a whole hour with my very best friend who lives too far from me.
Loved it. Thanks Heather!
Sounds like a great evening out! So glad you were able to still go. What a great hubby you have!
I do enjoy a moment with my friends! I'm glad you had a good time. WOOOT WOOT
Sounds absolutely fabulous
It's so nice to get to dress up and go out and just feel all womanly.
And, I do hope you got to sample some tasty wine!
I actually took the day off from work yesterday and went for a 2.7 mile walk, then relaxed and watched a movie I'd already seen on the tv before I had to get my kids.
Then I made them help me clean their bedrooms
Fun times! So glad you got to have some fun.
Can't link up with this one as I had no hour to myself this past week. I do work (outside the home) 12 hours a week which I consider my "sanity time", lol.
We have GNI tonight so I will post about that and link up next Thursday.
I'm now following you and look forward to getting an hour each week. I'll tell Hubster that you said I should.;)
