I miss writing.
I miss blogging.
I miss storytelling.
Lately, life has been on the fast track. Between running my business, running my household, running my kids to eight million different activities and just, well, running everywhere in every direction possible, blogging has taken somewhat of a backseat.
I go through this transitional phase a couple times a year as I experience the true ebb and flow of blogging.
I need to get back to what I love most – sharing the details of life and motherhood to a community of women who understand me.
I need to share my voice with other moms who connect to my words.
I need to get back to a place where my blog served a bigger purpose – the time when a single post resonated with other lives in some meaningful way; a place in which my words have weight, depth and above all, meaning.
I need this to be an evolving space where I can connect to the very women who make this whole crazy bloggity blog journey worth the ride.
I miss posting 2-3 times per week.
I miss the reply emails in my inbox from readers who felt a connection with the words I weaved together.
I miss the conversation that ensued upon an initial post.
I miss the blogging community for what it is and what it should remain and I need to be more actively involved in this process.
I need to get back to basics and just write.
Thank you @HeatheroftheEO for providing bloggers with the opportunity to do this every Tuesday – sharing a moment with the blogging community with what we do best, when we just write. To learn more about Heather’s linkup, visit the full details on her blog here. Heather is awesome not only because she has the coolest name on the planet {ahem} but because I met her in real life several years ago at BlogHer10’ and she is exactly that – a truly awesome blogger.
Life moves pretty fast, so I have to make time for the very thing that makes my heart beat – I need to get back to basics.

As a side note, many of you know Google Reader shut down last month. So if you are the blog subscriber kind, you can always catch my posts by subscribing through email (link on the top right hand of the blog under my header) or you can follow along using Bloglovin, my favorite new way of following awesome blogs.

Love this. And yes, you do need to get back to storytelling. Because I love reading them.
The more my workload increases, the harder it is to keep up with my personal blog. But so far I have. This has been a very difficult year for my family, and being able to write about it, connect to people who understand, and receive support has been vital. Would not be getting through without that outlet right now.

Thanks so much Elizabeth.
You’ve been here from the beginning, so you know exactly what I am writing about here. I miss the days of blogging at least 12-15 times a month and sharing the art of real storytelling. There just aren’t enough hours in the day….or perhaps I just need to make more of an effort to “fit in” and carve out more time of what I have loved about blogging since day one.

I am with you, Heather! Life is SO hectic, and so busy, and I miss the old days of blogging. I plan on getting back to basics… soon!

Exactly girl! We’ve been blogging for so long that we’ve been through the evolution of it all…and since our babies are no longer babies anymore, our content is also changing. We do this because we love it – otherwise, we wouldn’t still be here after all of these years! xo

I’ll be here waiting, Heather.

You’re so awesome Alison. Thank you for reading.

It’s pretty normal for us busy business women to ocassionally have to stop, re-evaluate, re-group and redirect. I find myself doing so much for clients on their blogs and social media that my own stuff becomes a ghost town I need to dedicate at least an hour every day to MY stuff to stay relevant and vibrant. Looking forward to your writings Heather!

I find that I do this at least three times a year – always good to redirect your efforts to where you need to go. 😉

Kate, Thank you SO much…for your comments and for staying the course with TM as a dedicated reader. I know I’ve said this before but it’s women like you who not only understand me, but you make this whole bloggity blog journey worth the ride.
xoxo
