The fabulous Elaine from The Miss Elaine-ous Life and I decided to team up and bring some serious old school blogging back to the blogosphere.
Are you ready to kick it old school with us, too?
We would LOVE to have you join us! Simply copy/paste the following questions and post your own responses on your blog and link up! Be sure to tag a few of your bloggy besties to join us, too. Elaine and I plan to make this a monthly meme if you guys are old school enough to do it.
We’re also using the hashtag #OSBlog on Twitter so be sure to tweet us your links, too! You can find us @ThetaMom and @Elainea
And we’re so super stoked about this linkup that Elaine even created a button so be sure to visit her blog to grab the code – and of course, link up!
I know, we’re so 2009 – and we LOVE it. Alright, here we go with the 8 Question Meme…
1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
2003. Wow, LBK {Life Before Kids}. I was recently married, bought my first place and finished graduate school. I was also a full-time elementary school teacher and assistant building administrator.
2. What 5 things are on your to-do list?
- Clean out my email inbox
- Unpack boxes that still remain since our latest move
- Do some serious spring cleaning
- Get my nails done {I do them myself}
- Sign my kids up for spring sports
3. What are 5 snacks you enjoy?
If I’m not trying to diet, Cheese Doodle’s are my absolute favorite. Basically, anything with cheese – and popcorn, pretzels or potato chips. Can you say hello carbs?
4. Name some things you would do if you were a millionaire:
Pay off any debt including my very expensive $$$ college and graduate school loans – which at this point I’ll be paying until I’m like 52 because I’ve been on the 30 year plan. Oy.
I would put money away to pay for my kids’ college education & wedding plans. I would have enough put away in savings so they were set for life.
I would take care of my parents, in-laws, siblings and close friends.
I would give $ to charity and causes that are close to my heart. I would donate $ to education and other organizations that I believe in.
Whatever is left over, I would buy a beach house, not in California or along the Florida coast, but at my beloved Jersey Shore.
5. Name some places you have lived:
I moved five times since I graduated college, but it’s all been in Jersey baby. Once a Jersey Girl, always a Jersey Girl.
6. Name some bad habits you have:
Over analyzing things, worrying about stupid stuff and obsessive cleaning.
7. Name some jobs you have had:
As a teenager, I worked every summer at the Jersey Shore. I started out working in a clothing store and then scooped ice-cream at Friendly’s. I also waited tables at a bar/restaurant which helped me get through college. Those were the good ol’ days man, those were THE days.
8. Name those you are tagging for #OSBlog:

I am so glad the two of you are bringing Old School Blogging back!
Elaine A. says
I want a beach house too, you know along with the house by the lake and/or mountains. 😉 Aw, wouldn’t it be nice to have so much moolah!?
Oh and I adore the fact that you love your home so much, I’ve never spent time in Jersey but I would love to some day.
Alison says
I so love your deep love for Jersey Shore.
I was playing around with these memes before I had a blog, I was posting them as Notes on Facebook! (I have a few lying around if you need ideas for the next few months)
Thank you for the tag, I’m absolutely doing this for next week!
Natalie says
There aren’t enough words for how much I love this!
Debra says
I love this, it’s so much fun and a great way to learn about each other. I remember doing these things on Facebook – they were popular but I guess like everything else went into overkill. As a Jersey girl – born and raised myself – I totally understand and appreciate your affinity & love for our homestate!
Susi says
Love this. It’s such a fun thing to do when you are stumped for ideas or just to “hang” out with other bloggers. I’d love to live by the beach or the intracoastal if I could. We live way out west on the Florida east coast – but it’s still only about 30 minutes away from the beach. Not too bad.
Colleen says
Love this idea! Mostly because I remember the days when I did this over and over and over!
nicole says
Doing my nails was on my list too. And I’ve only ever lived in Texas. And only two towns! This is so fun.
Heather O. says
Oh, I love this! I joined in… I have a bunch of these from years ago on my blog too! Awesome idea!
Jackie says
What… 2009? This is going to be the “In” thing pretty soon… we’re trendsetters for sure.
They’re fun, light hearted, easy, and a great way to get to know each other better.
Greta @gfunkified says
Oh goodness…I forgot about student loan debt. I pay almost as much every month for my graduate school loans as I do the mortgage. I love this link up and getting to know everyone a little better!
Connie Weiss says
A beach house would be awesome!
Cheryl says
Love this! Adding a post in my blog tonight. You’re right that this idea went into overkill on Facebook, but it’s fun and I love that you’re bringing it back.
Loukia says
My favourite snacks are all carbs, carbs, carbs, too! Thanks for doing this! Old School Blogging is the best, and I’ll take part for sure. xo
Tracie says
Cleaning out the email inbox is always on my list – yet it never seems to get done.
A Lady in France says
Hi Heather (waving), I linked up at Elaine’s.
I was a lifeguard over the summer, and you would think it would be less dangerous than Friendly’s but with all the pizza and beer, it was sort of a wash.
Robin | Farewell, Stranger says
I’m going to have to visit this famed Jersey Shore…
This was fun! Thanks for hosting.
LZ says
Makes me want to bring my blog back! Great idea…
